American Idol Update
This week is Idol gives back week and in keeping with last years tradition no one got booted off this week. This year was as star studded an event as its predecessor with appearances from the likes of: Snoop Dogg, John Legend, Miley Cirus, Mariah Carey, Annie Lennox, Gloria Estefan and Carrie Underwood, David and Victoria Beckham, Ellen DeGeneres, Jim Carrey. Presidential candidates John McCain, Barack Obama, and Hilary Clinton also made some pre-taped appeals for donations which was kind of cool, I guess they are trying to show a younger audience that they are with it and still hip. American Idol says they raised a cool $75 million last year and hope to break $100 million this year. I doubt that given the state of the economy and the fact that everyone is broke, well I’m speaking for myself and my acquaintences I could be wrong.
