Monday, April 28th, 2008

Miley Cyrus posed semi nude for her upcoming expose in Vanity Fair. She is photographed where nothing but a blanket she clutches to cover her chest, a contrast to the whole girl we see on Hannah Montana. When asked why she posed for the photos Miley said “I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be ‘artistic, ‘ and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed” This photo shoot has sparked a controversy with Disney lambasting Vanity Fair, accusing the magazine of duping Miley into to shoot and taking advantage of the 15 year old just to sell more issues.

American Idol Down to 5

Thursday, April 24th, 2008

Carly Smithson was the latest to get booted from American Idol. Many felt she was the least deserving to be eliminated and thought it would be Brook White, who stumbled at the start of her song and actually stopped to redo it. Tuesday’s theme was to do songs by Broadway producer Andrew Lloyd Webber. Smithson chose to sing “Jesus Christ Superstar” and though she did a good job, did not win any fans over. Many people are comparing what happened to Carly to what happened to rocker Chris Daughtry saying it was a fluke and not enough fans voted. Randy Jackson had a different theory saying, “It must be a bit of a popularity week in the vote.”

George Strait Troubadour Album Review

Thursday, April 24th, 2008

“Troubadour” is classic George Straight. The album starts off with the title track “Troubadour” and “It Was Me” both guenine sounding with simple and direct melodies. We see his honky-tonk style in songs like “Brothers of the Highway,” “West Texas Town”, and “Make Her Fall in Love with Me Song”. He hits religious themes in “I Saw God” today. This album has 12 tracks total and features many collaborations, most notable of which inlcude: Dean Dillon and Jamey Johnson .

James Otto Sunset Man Album Review

Friday, April 18th, 2008

“Sunset Man” is an okay / medicro album from James Otto. The first song in this album, “Ain’t Gonna Stop,” is really good. A nice high power country song. But after this it starts to get sappy and romantic and becomes a bit flat with the rest the CD. The follow songs are at best okay. This is Otto’s second album and there are 11 songs.

Ray J All I Feel Album Review

Friday, April 18th, 2008

“All I Feel” is a pretty good album and Ray J shows his talents with songs like “Sexy I can” . Most of his songs have catchy hooks and are fun to listen too. “Sexy I can”, which features Yung Berg, is a great R&B ballad. I would say this album is a lot about sex or having sex with hot girls so please be fore-warned. But it’s pretty tasteful and not vulgar at all. Other notable songs are: “I Like to Trick”, “Girl From the Bronx”, and “Gifts”. There are 13 tracks in this album.
