The reviews of REM’s new album accelerate are in. Accelerate makes the band sound “sound whole again, no longer three-legged but complete in their bond and purpose.” Here are some more comments from rollingstone and spin.
Hi all I found an interesting commentary on how the RIAA is like Tony Soprano and his mob buddies. Not that this is a big surprise, we all know what a bunch of SOBs they are but I wanted to vent my frustrations. We all know that they get away with what amounts to legal extortion, by targeting college kids and poor people with large legal fees, hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines per copyright violation, and the prospect of having a criminal record. Point is even though they say the law is on their side what they do on all commense sense and moral grounds is wrong. And even when you beat them in court, you still lose as the record studios will find ways of dragging out the case and not pay.
Facing the likely prospect prosecution on serious weapons charges, rapper T.I. has decided to take a plea bargain and plead guilty to several charges. T.I. can still potentially spend years behind bars and face hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines for this violation and being a repeat offender. Apologizing publicly he said that he was “dedicated and committed” to “looking forward to turning this negative time” in his life into a positive by telling youths to stay away from guns, drugs and gangs. This all stems from his arrest in October where he was found in possession of automatic weapons, silencers and various firearms. Read more…
Jamie Lynn Spears has been spotted with with an engagement ring on her finger. Rumors are also flying that she is shopping around for baby toys, maternity clothes, and baby accessories. Jamie Lynn will be 17 on April 4 and her fiancé, Casey Aldridge, is now 18. She is due this summer. Not to be cynical what do you guys all think, is this true love or a publicity stunt to save face and reputation?
As all you Idol maniacs know by now the latest American Idol to be booted off is Chikezie. So this is a sad day for all of you who liked Chikezie and his crazy outfits. I think a lot of the Idols have been flat the last couple weeks, so it’s been hard to guess who is going to get kicked off at any moment. Maybe it is the songs they are forced to sing, Beatles is tough that was like a different era.
I remember Chikezie as the guy who debut in a loud ugly orange jacket this season. Needless to say I was turned off and not a fan of him at all so I am glad he is gone.
It’s nice to know Ramiele and Sayesha are still in though as I am rooting for them 
Good news for myspace and music fanatics alike. Myspace.com is in talks with the major record labels to form a partnership in which Myspace would become a distributor of music, dowloads and streaming videos. Myspace Music groups is one of the most popular music sites in the world with fans, friends, and bands forming various groups. Myspace Music also hosts numerous websites for popular artists and rockstars. Under this deal Myspace is rumored to be considering serveral revenue models including giving videos for free and making money off of advertising and or selling downloads like itunes. The record labels would get a share of this revenue.
Looks like pop tard Britney’s money problems continue to build. Britney’s father has actually been giving permission to sell her cars off so that they don’t have to pay for the maintenance cost of her luxary fleet.
Kinda of messed up, though i am not a finiance guru i would guess that this is not a good sign for her financially and that she needs to get her act together quick and stop dating pimps.
